Manny and Isa's Cuban Cuisine restaurant closed permanently 2 years ago - after 25 years in the business. With Manny and Isa both retiring, the closing sent locals and tourists alike into mourning for the loss of "ropa vieja" and Manny's famous key lime pie.

Thanks to local restaurateur Mike Forster - aka "Mangrove Mike" - Manny's recipes and the best key lime pies are back!

On July 31st, 2007, Manny & Isa's reopened in a new location - the former "Squid Row", just north of it's former location oceanside at mile marker 81 in Islamorada.

Dedicated to living up to the reputation of the long term establishment, Mangrove Mike has launched the new restaurant under the watchful eye of now retired Manny.

Key Lime Pie

Authentic Key Lime Pie is made from the small yellow limes grown in backyards of homes in the Florida Keys.

Keys natives or "conchs" (pronounced "konks"), tend to scoff at any key lime pie that is green... and purists prefer lightly browned meringue to a whipped cream topping.

Crust can be a subject of great debate - while most recognize the pastry crust as the real thing, others admit fondness for the sweet/tart contrast provided by the graham cracker crust.
